Many of us are in shock and left feeling helpless following the horrific tragedy that struck the tight knit community of Newtown, Connecticut, this past Friday.

A lot of questions still remain unanswered, but if you’d like to offer support and show your sympathy to the students, teachers, and other people at Sandy Hook, you can send a letter to:

Sandy Hook Elementary School
12 Dickenson Drive
Sandy Hook, CT 06482

And if you’d like to contribute even more, here are some other ways you can help.

The Sandy Hook School Support Fund, an official fund for victims’ families and the community as a whole, has now been set up by the United Way of Western Connecticut. All donations to this fund will go directly to those affected.

Donate to The Red Cross and/or give blood. The Red Cross provided assistance to first responders and delivered blood to the local hospital where victims were transported. It has also set up a center for emergency grief counseling.

Newtown Memorial Fund has been set up to first to assist families of the victims with funeral expenses, followed by the design and construction of a suitable lasting memorial to the victims, and lastly to establish a scholarship fund.

The Newtown Parent Connection is assisting with support services, workshops and grief counseling.

The Newtown Memorial Fund is taking donations for the families and community affected. They are also looking for volunteers and help of all kinds.

Emilie Parker Fund – A fund has also been set up to help the family of 6 year old Emilie Parker. Instructions on the Emilie Parker Memorial Account at America First Credit Union (account #5001359). For AFCU members making a transfer, select the Savings as the type of account, and the last name on the account is Parker. For non AFCU members, the AFCU routing number is 324377516. To donate via PAYPAL: Use the email – brookeprothero@yahoo.com
